MOTD / Everyday Makeup Look

I don’t tend to wear much makeup during the day and opt for a light coverage and dark eyes. I like my skin to look natural and with having so many freckles I think a heavy layer of foundation makes me look too different. So these are just the products I usually use and the overall look.

Face Base:

I often apply a primer first to smoothen my skin and even out my skin tone where it’s needed. The Porefessional by Benefit is one of my favourites it’s really light, the colour blends in perfectly and the texture gives a flawless finish which can be worn on its own or as a base for powder or liquid foundation. I prefer a pressed powder partly because I haven’t found a liquid foundation that I love and partly because for everyday applications find it’s faster and easier. At the moment I am using Max Factor pressed powder in neauvous beige. The Real Technqiues brushes are my favourite of the high street brands. They are super soft, have very little to no fallout and apply make up incredibly well. The face brush is great for applying powder and softening contour lines.

My next step is eyeliner and mascara. I use Mac gel liner in Blacktrack to create a cat eye flick from the centre of my eyelid outwards. The silicone Real Techniques eyeliner brush is perfect for creating smooth lines. They’re Real by Benefit is my fave mascara I’ve found so far. It seriously lengthens and volumises lashes and isn’t too clumpy to start with. I do find as it gets older it becomes weirdly dry though…

Eyebrows and Highlight:

For my brows I first brush them out with Benefit GimmeBrow to make them fuller and define the shape better. I then go over them with either the gel or powder in Browzings depending on how heavy I want them to look. I apply high beam (so much Benefit!) to my cheek and brow bones to lighten up those areas.

Using the Real Techniques sculpting brush I apply bronzer below my cheek bones and blusher on my cheeks. Blending with a powder brush along with the highlighter gives a natural contour to slim my face and add tone.

Last but not least I soften my lips with a lush lip scrub, apply some lip balm and choose my favourite lipstick depending on my mood. This one is devotion by Topshop which is sadly no longer available! A spray of fragrance and I’m all ready to go.

Ta da! Unfortunately I couldn’t take a single nice front on photo without help so my profile will have to suffice 😉 Doing this I’ve realised how many Benefit products I actually use! Note to self: buy more makeup.
